AI for Introverts: Your Unfair Advantage

As a solopreneur, have you ever felt like your energy is your most limited resource? You can handle the client work, the creative thinking... but it's the constant pressure to be "on"—the networking, the social media, the self-promotion—that leaves you completely drained.

It's a frustrating trap. You know you need to be visible to grow, but the very act of putting yourself out there feels like a performance that goes against your nature. You end up thinking that to succeed, you have to become someone you're not: a loud, extroverted marketer. So you hit a wall, convinced that your quiet nature is a business liability.

But what if that's completely wrong? What if your introversion is actually your unfair advantage? Today, we're going to flip the script and show you how to use AI to build a business that doesn't just accommodate your introverted strengths, but is actively powered by them.

And there is no one better to guide us through this than Goldie Chan. Goldie is known as the "Oprah of LinkedIn" for a reason - she's a world-renowned keynote speaker, a contributor to Forbes, and the founder of a top-tier social media strategy agency that's worked with major brands. She is a master of building powerful personal brands, and with her new book for introverts, she's the perfect expert to show us how to stop fighting our nature and start using it to win.

AI for Introverts: Your Unfair Advantage

[00:00:00] Goldie Chan: If you automate the right task, it creates space for really meaningful connection. It allows you to have that time to nurture client relationships and collaborations. I know that when I feel so overwhelmed when I'm just doing too much. I just don't have the time or energy to start doing outreach and saying like, I'd love to work on a video with you, or have just reach out to potential clients and say like, oh, are you interested in this particular offering or anything like that.

[00:00:27] 'cause I am so busy making those 40 posts that I don't have time and energy to ask someone else to say like, Hey, can we collab? Can we work together? On, on something powerful. And you know, I think it can amplify your unique strengths because when you have all this busy work handled, then as an introvert you can lean into all these other superpowers, which are so human.

[00:00:55] And I love that you have an acronym that's H.U.M.A.N., Like listening, observing, crafting. Really wonderful original ideas that at the end of the day, no system can replicate because it comes from here, right? It comes from you. [00:02:45] Now, as a solopreneur, have you ever felt. Like your energy is your most limited resource. You can handle the client work, the creative thinking, but it's the constant pressure to be on. The networking, the social media, the self-promotion that leaves you completely drained. It can be a frustrating trap, you know, you need to be visible to grow, but the very act of putting yourself out there feels like a performance that goes against your nature.

[00:03:10] You end up thinking that to succeed you have to become someone. You're not a loud, extroverted marketer. So hit a wall convinced that your quiet nature is a business liability. But what if that's completely wrong? What if your introversion is actually your unfair advantage? Today we're gonna flip the script and show you how to use AI to build a business that doesn't just accommodate your introverted strengths, but is actively powered by them, and there is no one better to guide us through this than Goldie Chan.

[00:03:40] Goldie is known as the Oprah of LinkedIn for a reason. She's a world renowned keynote speaker, a contributor to Forbes, and the founder of a top tier social media strategy agency that's worked with major brands.

[00:03:50] She's a master of building powerful personal brands, and with her new book for introverts, she's the perfect expert to show us how to stop fighting our nature and start using it. To win. Hey, Goldie, welcome to the show.

[00:04:02] Goldie Chan: Hi, I'm so, so excited to be here, Mike. In fact, I even, I just got this in the mail, so I will pull, I will show it Personal Branding for Introverts.

[00:04:10] It's the hardcover of the book. I know you're gonna get a copy of it soon. I am so excited to talk about introverts and personal branding and AI, which I think is such a fun triangle that most folks don't even think about.

[00:04:24] Mike Allton: It's exciting and we're all ex extra excited here happy October 28th and this is launch day for you. So double excitement launch day. I'll be sharing all kinds of links and information, but this is the day friends to go out and pick up Goldie's book.

[00:04:38] Goldie Chan: I am so excited. I think one of the things that was so hard with this book is simply the writing of it which I will go into also how I used AI to help a little bit with the, even the writing process, not the actual writing itself, but some of the pieces around the writing.

[00:04:55] I think so many people can definitely benefit from using AI always as a tool and not a separate person.

[00:05:02] Mike Allton: Right, right now, it's funny to me because you and I have known each other now for years and, and I think one of the reasons we, we connected early on was we're both very introverted, but you are known for being extremely visible and present Yes.

[00:05:16] On LinkedIn. So what inspired you to focus on introverts for your new book?

[00:05:21] Goldie Chan: So I think that so many visibility strategies are built and written for extroverts, and that leaves a lot of introverts like myself, like yourself, Mike. If you define yourself as an introvert, that leaves us feeling so invisible, and I wanted to create a framework that feels very natural, very sustainable.

[00:05:41] Joyful for the folks who are maybe more on the quieter side, the more introverted side of things. And at the end of the day, as an introvert myself, I think there is such power in being an introvert and telling your story very intel, intentionally, very intelligently and intentionally. I think that there's so much power in being thoughtful as an introvert and then building your brand as one.

[00:06:12] Mike Allton: So let's talk more about the powers then that you think introverts have, because I know a lot of solopreneurs and introverts think that their introversion is a hurdle,

[00:06:23] right?

[00:06:24] We think it's an overlooked, superpower. What are some of those superpowers that they can actually bring to the table when it comes to business?

[00:06:29] Goldie Chan: Okay, there are three, and if I look down, it's because I've written them to make sure that I say exactly them right. So one is deep listening, which if you have deep listening, you're able to build trust and stronger client relationships, which for the solopreneurs out there, for everyone who runs your own business.

[00:06:49] This is such a helpful element because if you listen well to others. You are able to connect with others. The next is focus creativity, and this means being able to create very original, very cool ideas and solitude. And I'll say this, Mike is such a business person. I myself am such a business person or entrepreneur or solopreneur that for each of us.

[00:07:14] I know that we thrive when we have at least a little bit of time to really think about our creative ideas alone before bringing them to the table to share with others. And then finally, empathy and observation. I think really noticing those subtle details that other people don't see. Unmet needs that others miss.

[00:07:35] And I will give a very silly example of this. In fact, I'll tell this to you, Mike. I mentioned you on the last podcast that I was on and I said that you and I were at a conference once, and I'm not gonna name the conference and I'm not gonna name the other person, but you and I were at a conference once.

[00:07:50] We were deep in conversation. And I think you had just gotten me tacos because I was starving and I just spoken. I don't know if you remember this moment.

[00:07:59] Mike Allton: I do remember this. Yeah.

[00:08:00] Goldie Chan: I'm just saying, I'm not gonna say the other person, but you know. Mm-hmm. We, we were talking, we're deep in conversation and as an introvert, I want to hear what you, my friend had to say at this major conference.

[00:08:10] So we're having this lovely conference, and I remember this, the person next to me, um, and, and the podcast I was just speaking on, we were talking about ego versus confidence, and the person next to me kept saying like, oh, you're Goldie. Oh, I'm blah. And, and she kept trying to get my attention in a, what felt like a very slightly ego driven way.

[00:08:28] And it was so interesting because I just wanted to listen to you. My friend who had just gotten me a set of delightful tacos at this event, and this other person I remember just kept trying to pull my attention away in a way that I was just like, oh, as an introvert, I feel like this person is probably an extrovert.

[00:08:47] But as an introvert, I was deep in listening mode and I wanted to focus on this other person. But I think that is such an introvert superpower is the ability to really hear. And listen to other people so you can really tell and discern what it is that you can help them with. Or if they are a potential client, what they need help building or growing or developing.

[00:09:13] So maybe that's something that you can help with.

[00:09:18] Mike Allton: I will always remember that statement because what I remember is what happened next is that you turned to that person and you said, wait. Do you see who I'm talking to? This is Mike Allton. I'm talking to Mike Allton. Don't talk to me now.

[00:09:32] Goldie Chan: Okay. I don't even remember the second half of that.

[00:09:34] Mike. That feels like a hundred percent something I would say. And because I think I was just focused on Mike Allton, the amazing. And

[00:09:43] Mike Allton: Tacos.

[00:09:44] Goldie Chan: And tacos, the amazing host of the show, but also you're my friend. You're like a friend, friend. You're not just a, I'm seeing you at a conference and well, hello Mike, and what are you working on?

[00:09:53] And I'm delighted to see you again for the, you know, has been two years. You're like a friend. So I'm, I'm very guarded down. And also I want to know what you're working on and from a genuine friend, helpful place. But yeah, I remember that moment and feeling very much like they kept trying to insert themselves in a very.

[00:10:12] It felt, it felt like kind of an ego-driven way into our conversation in a way that as an introvert, I'm just like, oh, I just, I, as an introvert, I don't appreciate that as much as if they just said, oh, are you Goldie? I'm blah. Like, that's what they had to say. And they're like, Hey, what are you working on?

[00:10:28] And then I would've even invited them very joyfully into the conversation, Mike, that you and I were having. But it made me uncomfortable that this person looked at you. I'm sure you noticed this, then looked at me and then completely ignored you, and then addressed me in a way where they felt that I should be a fan and then, and then were very upset that I wasn't a fan.

[00:10:51] I would maybe actually be a fan if they had talked to you and talked to me in a better way. Anyway, that, that has nothing to do with ai, but that has everything to do with human skills and human listening and, and the things that introverts, I think are, are so good at. And I know that Mike, you are also really good at reading the room, so I know you were reading exactly what was happening in that particular room that we were in, and you knew exactly what was happening at that time.

[00:11:16] Mike Allton: I knew exactly what was happening, but I love that we're talking about this because yes. One of, one of my frameworks, I know you're a mutual fan of frameworks, is the H.U.M.A.N. Framework. Yes. AI adoption. I called it human on purpose because we had to keep humanity involved. And that means elevating things like empathy and creativity, which I love that you mentioned there.

[00:11:35] But let's also talk about the grind. I know that's something that a lot of solopreneurs, they feel that need, the hustle, the grind. What do you think are, because I, I wanna start with the problem. What do you think are a couple of marketing, maybe networking tasks that you see consistently that are just, they're draining the energy of the introverts that you talk to?

[00:11:54] Um.

[00:11:55] Goldie Chan: So let's start with the one that we brought up just now, which is endless networking events. Yeah. I think that both you and I, we go to so many conferences, so many meetups, so many, there's so many that, and, um, being told the phrase work, the room at big conferences is exhausting. And I'm honestly not the best person at working the room because I would, Mike, as you literally know.

[00:12:19] Would rather sit next to you for an hour and eat tacos and hear about how your family is doing than talk to five people that I think are famous, you know, or whatever that is. I, I'm just such a fan of not being exhausted by endless networking events anyways, number two is. Document overwhelm, and this sounds very cheesy, but as I was working on my book, I ended up commissioning someone who did a ton of research for me.

[00:12:48] They pulled up all these facts and figures from a lot of different scientific docu scientific documents and resources that I wanted to insert in my book so a lot of. Science went also into this book, but I then had to understand hundreds and hundreds of pages of stuff, and I'm going to maybe go into that a little bit later.

[00:13:07] What I ended up doing, but that was this kind of mental clutter that I had. And the third thing was Constant Content Churn. We're gonna do three C's, Constant Content Churn. So it's the pressure, and I'm sure you feel this too, Mike, the pressure to post daily across every single platform, even if you're scheduling that content.

[00:13:32] Yeah. It's that pressure to post daily. It makes you feel like you're in this little squeaky hamster wheel and you're, as you're running, it's going me. And you can't ever get out of that hamster wheel. I think that that is so real for so many people and so many introverted founders is they're like, well, how am I going to keep up with this endless request for content?

[00:13:55] So those to me are the three endless networking events, document overwhelm and constant content churn.

[00:14:03] Mike Allton: Well, and this is, I think is definitely where AI comes in. Yes. There's, there's so many opportunities. I, I think what in your mind, should an introvert start to look at, uh, automating some of that, uh, constant churn or the overwhelm or bringing in ai, what do you think would be some like low hanging fruit for a solopreneur in those instances?

[00:14:23] Goldie Chan: So first of all, I think that it's really great, especially let's start with the first thing, but with the first example, when you are at endless conferences and things like that, you can definitely also already use AI to prepare you to give you notes so you can do research in whatever AI programs that you use.

[00:14:39] To look up the different interesting people that maybe you do want to connect with. So say that there's a couple of book authors that will be at the conference. You can look up their book. You can also get a bio from them. You can pull all of this using Ai. So AI truly is your friendly assistant. And since I mentioned the word assistant, I want to also mention something that I use for everything else.

[00:15:01] So the constant content churn and also the document overwhelm. What I personally use, and I partner with them a lot because I actually really like this product. And as you know, Mike, I'm the queen of uncool, so I'm gonna say the uncool is but coolest AI product for this podcast, and that is Acrobat Studio.

[00:15:20] So Acrobat Studios offers AI powered productivity hub called AI Assistant, and also p, now PDF spaces that helps introverts automate these tasks like organizing files, extracting insights, and even chatting with our documents to get answers. So then introverts like me and you can focus on letting. AI handle all those repetitive tasks, but in particular, I'm gonna go through a couple examples.

[00:15:48] So it helped me tame the document overwhelm because I had so many documents. At one point, I had so many contracts that I was just like, okay, I think that I agreed to do this. In this contract. Yeah. And also I grew, I think in this scientific paper it said this, so like, I think this is the quote, but I'm not sure.

[00:16:09] And then when you know, you try to like literally search for a term that wasn't what the scientist's name was. So it's so helpful to use something like a Adobe Acrobat AI assistant, which I can then query. In an enclosed environment, which I think is so powerful because so many of these, LLM, really powerful AI assistant models that are not Adobe Acrobat.

[00:16:33] They query outside. It's the great worldwide web. So I might say like, Hey, I need this scientific fact that's talking about introversion versus extroversion in the United States. They're gonna go crawl a bunch of different websites. Yeah. They're gonna go do this and that and the other thing. Honestly, those might not be the facts I want.

[00:16:49] I want the facts that were are within this document. So the power of using an enclosed environment for Ai. I am such a fan. In fact, I'm such a fan of this. I almost took a job as a CEO. I don't know if I told you this, Mike, of an AI company. That worked on specifically enclosed environments for Ai and I think it's so powerful to focus, to be able to focus.

[00:17:14] And with that, I want to also say creating a focus workspace. And that's where PF spaces is also an Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Studio or Acrobat Studio is so powerful because you can create this one space and then I can put say, um, I can put all of my different notes into this one space. Right now for me, I have one space that's literally my book manuscript.

[00:17:38] It's also my workbook. It's also a few notes that I have, a few op-ed articles I've written. It's all this text around my book and whenever I need to say, pull out something that's like, okay, I need five tips for women leaders 'cause now I'm on all these podcasts, like I'm on this podcast right now. I can query against all those documents in this amazing focused workspace and then I can learn more within those documents.

[00:18:06] I, it'll pull from those individual documents really intelligently and it doesn't pull artifacts, it doesn't pull things from outside the web that I don't know where that's coming from. So I can literally quote myself more easily, which sounds really, really funny. And also it's, it's easier to share some of these insights.

[00:18:26] So I can share then the PDF space and it will have AI assistant, and I can share this with the rest of my team so they can see, okay, these are the five tips that Goldie wants to give for women leaders. They can pull that and then they can send those tips to say pitching press or whatever next step I'm doing.

[00:18:46] So that was my very long-winded explanation of some of the amazing things that AI can do. Which it can do so much.

[00:18:54] Mike Allton: No, I love that. I actually did a whole episode on Notebook LM, which is a very similar Yes. Kind of a system. It's, it's called a RAG, a Retrieval Augmentation Generation system. Yes. So when you ask.

[00:19:06] The RAG system of question, like you said, it's only drawing from the sources. Now, recently I've been using Notion as kind of the brain for my business and Notion has a Chrome extension. This is so cool. They're called the Notion Web Clipper. And you can use that to bring in any website, all the text, website into Notion.

[00:19:24] Wow. So this podcast, when it airs, I bring it into Notion using the Web Clipper. So I have a database that has the complete transcript of every podcast I've ever recorded. This is episode a hundred and two . So now I, to go in there like a couple weeks ago was National Podcast Day. Which I didn't know about until like 7:00 PM and I'm like, oh, I almost missed it.

[00:19:46] But I wanna share something about National Podcast Day and I want to share some quotes from guests. So I just went into Notion AI and said, Hey, look at our podcast database and give me five or six quotes from guests that are relevant to solopreneurs and creators, and boom, in seconds, completely accurate.

[00:20:04] Yes, I love cited guests.

[00:20:07] Goldie Chan: I know that this is very. Dorky. But I love querying in an enclosed environment like that, and especially if it gives citations because then you know, that wasn't just like a ghost hallucination, right? Which is never good, but you know, that's actually what they said. That's an actual quote that they gave you.

[00:20:23] I think that so important, all of that, being able to ask within a space is so powerful and so helpful. When you don't want to necessarily ask the entire internet, and also, as we know, unfortunately, the one downside to AI is that sometimes it queries and it gives you incorrect advice. I think about that example with the pizza, where people are asking if Elmer's Glue is a good addition to pizza as cheese, and it said absolutely.

[00:20:50] Mike Allton: Yep.

[00:20:50] Goldie Chan: Yeah. And I, and I think that if you were, say, querying against a cookbook, a pizza cookbook, right? You had the PDF for that, you could query against that. It probably wouldn't say you should consume Elmer's glue. Or if it does, that's a terrible cookbook. Maybe don't buy that cookbook.

[00:21:07] Mike Allton: Yeah. Maybe not.

[00:21:09] Folks we're talking with my incredible friend, Goldie Chan, about the struggles which are real, or introverts and solopreneurs, but obviously how you can take a lot of your introversion, turn that into a superpower. And I've got a couple more questions that you're not gonna wanna miss. But first, a quick word from our sponsor.

[00:21:26] Speaker: This episode of AI for Business Leaders, the AI Hat Podcast is brought to you by Magai. [00:22:24] Mike Allton: So Goldie, let's talk about content. I mean, a lot of introverts prefer, like deep content over constant performance. How do you think AI can transform maybe their content creation from a chore into some kind of a system that can actually work for them?

[00:22:40] Goldie Chan: Yeah, so I think it starts with just philosophically what introverts like.

[00:22:46] So I think it's definitely starting with depth and not volume, because I think so many times when people think about content, they're like, how much can you just churn out? And certainly with AI we now can churn out hundreds, thousands of pieces of content in in seconds, and it's kind of amazing. We could do that, but also.

[00:23:05] What ends up happening is we become less focused on deck. And as you know, Mike, people want very high quality pieces of content still. So even if you are using AI, I think it is so helpful to still think about depth instead of forcing a daily post. Do one thoughtful piece like a framework. We were talking about frameworks like a framework, a story, or a guide.

[00:23:32] That reflects your real perspective. And what's beautiful about this too is if you're an introvert, that's a solopreneur or leader, et cetera, this positions you as an expert. And Adobe Acrobat AI assistant can help expand, summarize, or repurpose that single piece of content into multiple formats, because now it's tied to, say, Adobe Express and you can now create these visual assets too.

[00:23:58] I think it's also helpful to think about turning overwhelm into clarity. So one of my chapters in my book, I talk about overcoming the overwhelm that we have as introverts. And I'm sure Mike, you've experienced this too, where you get stuck in the too many ideas.

[00:24:15] Mike Allton: Mm-hmm.

[00:24:15] Goldie Chan: Too many draft stage, and then you don't actually make the project because you're, you're just like.

[00:24:21] I have a hundred ideas. They're all in kind of various stages of going and getting done and getting started. So I think instead of starting with that, focusing on how do I triage down and pick one or two things, and I will say this, AI can also help with saying, okay, which of these a hundred projects do you think that I should start with?

[00:24:45] If my goals are to say, reach more clients. In the new year, right? Or reach this specific kind of client. That's what AI could do. That's such so powerful. You can query all of these fascinating questions against your database of knowledge. And then finally, the last thing I want to say is you can build a repeatable system.

[00:25:05] And I, I know, Mike, you're much better at this than I am because we just talking about this, which is you can use AI to create these templates for newsletters, posts, or even proposals for other clients. So you're not reinventing the wheel every time. And shout out to Adobe Express, which is where I build a lot of my proposals and a lot of my templates for various posts and things like that, and I reuse them.

[00:25:29] But what I'll do is if you look at my, say Instagram, you'll see some of those are reused, but I just changed the colors, or I move certain elements around a little bit. So I think using AI to then duplicate replicate, and expand what you're already working on is such a helpful tool that you can bring into your system.

[00:25:48] Mike Allton: I, I love that you talked about the overwhelm that we face as solopreneurs. I was just having this conversation this morning with a solopreneur, a fellow, a social media pro that, that you and I both know, uh, she's fantastic. But the first,

[00:26:01] Goldie Chan: it wasn't the person sitting next to us at tacos.

[00:26:04] Mike Allton: It was not that person.

[00:26:06] Uh, no. This is a person we know and love, but she spent the first 10 minutes talking about how. She has all these incredible ideas, all these big plans, all these fantastic things she wants to do, and she'll often get started on many of them, but then the ball gets dropped because she's overwhelmed.

[00:26:21] There's all these fires, all these distractions, all these things going on. Right. Which you were just starting to talk about, and I'd love if you could expand on that idea a little bit more. Looking at that big picture, how do you think exactly that automating some of these tasks, the right tasks?

[00:26:35] Mm-hmm. Actually frees us up as introverts and solopreneurs to focus on some of the high value activities that only they can do to actually scale their business.

[00:26:45] Goldie Chan: Yeah, so I think it, there's, there's three different ways to think about this. Number one, it protects your energy for creativity and strategy because when you are in the weeds, and I have certainly been there because I create so much of my own content in my own posts, um, I've been in the weeds where I'm like, I'm making 20 plus posts today.

[00:27:04] Like, I'm just making the graphical assets for that. Right. But I think when you can automate some of those things, it then frees up some of that energy, right? By not having to focus on these repetitive, ongoing tasks that then you can do the deep and very thoughtful work of saying, okay, like you and I were talking before we jumped on this about like what are we gonna do in the new year?

[00:27:27] Right? What are some big goals that we have? And I think if you're in the weeds with. Oh God, I have to make 40 posts. It's very hard to think like, what am I going to do in the new year? Because you're so focused on this level, right? This ant level instead of in the sky, you're, you don't have that aerial view of everything.

[00:27:45] I also think that if you automate the right task, it creates space for really meaningful connection. It allows you to have that time to nurture client relationships and collaborations. I know that when I feel so overwhelmed when I'm just doing too much, I just don't have the time or energy to start doing outreach and saying like, I'd love to work on a video with you or have, just reach out to potential clients and say like, oh, are you interested in this particular offering?

[00:28:13] Or anything like that. 'cause I am so busy making those 40 posts that I don't have time and energy to ask someone else to say like, Hey, can we collab? Can we work together? On, on something powerful. And you know, I'll end with this last thing is that I think it can amplify your unique strengths because when you have all this busy work handled, then as an introvert you can lean into all these other superpowers, which are so human. And I love that you have an acronym that's human like listening, observing, crafting really wonderful original ideas that at the end of the day no system can replicate because it comes from here, right?

[00:28:56] It comes from you. And those are the powerful elements that we want to make sure live side by side with whatever we do with AI.

[00:29:05] Mike Allton: Oh, I could not agree more. That's exactly what I was talking about with this mutual friend this morning. I was telling her about how when you have an AI partner, not just a a tool or an assistant, but an actual AI partner, right?

[00:29:18] Yes. That's someone that you can talk to and brainstorm with and strategize with. That removes some of the cognitive load that up until now, as a solopreneur, it was all on you. It was all on you. It was all on me. Yeah. Right. I've got my cat in the room. She's back here. She's not helping me the slightest bit.

[00:29:32] She's not even facing me at the moment. She is not giving me any advice at all and never has. But now I have an AI chief of staff, right. That I can bounce ideas off.

[00:29:40] Goldie Chan: I would love if you just said that your cat, Mike was your chief of staff and now unfortunately that role has been taken over by AI and that's why

[00:29:49] Mike Allton: her back is to me.

[00:29:51] Goldie Chan: No. Um, that I love the way you also said that AI Chief of Staff, because once again, it is helping you with your life. It's organizing your life. But it's also not a replacement. I think so many people want AI to be a replacement for themselves. But you, the whole point is that you use AI for these repetitive, tough tasks or, or overwhelming tasks.

[00:30:12] So that way you're freed up to be really creative and really strategic and really thoughtful, so that way you're freed up so that you know me and Mike can have a conversation over tacos together. That's something that AI cannot replicate. I mean, it can make a movie about it, but it can't replicate the feeling of sitting with your friend having tacos and catching.

[00:30:33] Mike Allton: Exactly right. Now, for many of the introverted solopreneurs who are listening right now, they feel stuck. Yep. What do you think is like the first most important action that they can take today to start building what we're calling their unfair advantage?

[00:30:49] Goldie Chan: Okay, so I'm gonna start with, I know we're doing an AI podcast, but we're gonna start with paper.

[00:30:55] Okay. So the first thing is start by writing down your strengths on paper or on the note. This is the next step up, but the notes app on your phone, but. I don't want you to start by doing a query. I want you to start by using your brain. You're gonna write down some of your strengths on paper. Do you think that you also are a good listener?

[00:31:13] Do you think that you're a great connector? Do you think that you're a great, curator of people, places, things, cats, who knows? Whatever you think that your strengths are, start to write those down on paper first. Now, now that we've written things down on paper, not throwing that paper away. No, just kidding.

[00:31:30] We're gonna take that paper. We are going to take it and we can now use AI to help us formulate some interesting ideas. So you can take those ideas and say, oh, I'm good and type them all in right to whatever you're using and say, I'm good at these five things. Now based off of these five things that I know I'm great at, I want to reach this kind of client in 2026.

[00:31:54] What is one action I can take? And so it's trying to, then AI does this powerful thing where it helps you think a couple steps ahead. And the best part is even if AI doesn't give you the perfect answer, AI will do an answer that then you can use once again, your brain and think about, okay, that might not be exactly right, but what if I did this?

[00:32:15] You know, what if instead of posting a meetup event, I did an online webinar. Right? So it just gets your brain thinking and brainstorming about ways that you can get unstuck, because that's whole point of getting unstuck is just coming up with ideas, starting to think on your own, trying to figure out all of those things with a little bit of help.

[00:32:37] In this time it's going to be with hopefully whatever AI assistant you want to use. And for me it's Adobe Acrobat AI assistant, which I use for really summarizing all those long documents, pulling out key insights. And I will say that I also use it too with say, when I have a lot of Zoom calls or I have transcripts from different meetings that I have, I will pop that also into AI assistant and say, okay, great.

[00:33:04] Can you tell me what Logan said on Wednesday? Mm-hmm. About like this particular project and like, should I follow up on this? Or how, what are my deliverables that I need to do? And then once again, that takes my brain. A little bit off of having to remember all those things because I have a goldfish break.

[00:33:24] So I can't remember a lot of those things. But AI can be such a powerful tool to help you remember some of those things. And even if you didn't write them down, if you can query against transcripts and ask the right questions, I think that that's so powerful too, because then you can start to really get intelligent meeting summaries and you can understand what your homework is instead of having say, endless notes that you have on various different places.

[00:33:53] Mike Allton: I absolutely love that. In fact I love how you talked about, not necessarily agreeing with what the AI tells us, right? That's something everybody needs to remember.

[00:34:02] Right. You know, don't just treat the AI's response as, as gospel. Feel free to push back. Right. But also, I always train my AI assistants to challenge my assumptions. Mm-hmm. So it can be a really fruitful a conversation where we don't always agree and we can have a productive conversation about, in this case, like a marketing test.

[00:34:20] Goldie Chan: And definitely training is so important, you know? Absolutely. Like I think training your, training, your, whatever you're using as your AI assistant training, it is so important. Giving it parameters is so important. Saying like. I want this tone, or I, this is how I am perceived as. Please make sure that whatever posts you draft for me or whatever content you work on with me is going to have the same tone, the same energy, the same intention.

[00:34:45] You can train all of the AI systems that you work with in various ways so that they come closer to your voice without replacing your voice, because we don't want that either. Yeah,

[00:34:56] Mike Allton: yeah, yeah. So I'll actually link to a resource in the, in the show notes below. It's about Custom GPTs, which is Chat GPT's Custom Ai.

[00:35:04] But the principle is the same. I happen to use Gemini most of the time you're using Adobe. People use Claude. I love Claude. It works the same across all the, all across all the L lms. So I'll share that below. But Goldie, you've been absolutely fantastic. I am so excited for this book that you've come out.

[00:35:20] Incredibly appreciative of your time today, but I know many of the folks listening, they've got questions. I'll include a link of course to the book, but if they wanna reach out to you, where should they go?

[00:35:29] Goldie Chan: So they can always find me on LinkedIn, linkedin.com/slash goldie. They can also find me on my website, goldie chan.com.

[00:35:38] Mike Allton: Fantastic. Thank you Goldie. Thank all of you for listening. We will have all of Goldie's links in the show notes below and some of those other resources I mentioned.
