Your Business Doesn't Need Another Plan

We're trying something a little different with this episode. Many of you know I send out a dispatch email every Thursday and Saturday with a single, focused idea to help you build a smarter business. The response to this week's Saturday dispatch was so strong, I decided to record an audio version of it for you.

I'm calling these 'Saturday Shorts.' They'll be quick, potent, standalone thoughts—perfect for a Saturday morning coffee. Let me know what you think of this new format. For now, here's this week's dispatch.

I was on a call last month with AI Solopreneur OS community member Tina, a successful Instagram consultant. She's been in the game for years. She knows her stuff. Her clients love her.

But when I asked her how things were going with her business growth, she said something that stopped me cold:

"I've got all these things I want to do… three weeks go by and I haven't done anything with that idea."
She had a spreadsheet of ideas. Sticky notes covering her desk. Voice memos in her phone. A Google Doc titled "2025 Strategy" that she hadn't opened in six weeks.

The problem wasn't that Tina didn't know what to do. The problem was that every time she sat down to execute, she'd get pulled into client work, or admin chaos, or just… freeze.

This is the solopreneur's hidden trap: idea paralysis.

We convince ourselves we need a better plan. So we spend a weekend building a 40-page business plan. We outline our goals, map our funnels, project our revenue.

And then we file it away. Because the plan didn't solve the real problem.

The real problem is this: traditional planning creates more paralysis, not less.

A static plan sits there, judging you. It doesn't adapt when your week implodes. It doesn't help you decide which of your 47 ideas to tackle first. It doesn't reduce the cognitive load of being the only person in your business carrying 100% of the strategic weight.

So here's what I did: I built something different.

It's called The Master Blueprint, and it's a 90-minute working session between you and your AI assistant. You work through a series of guided prompts - strategic questions that help you architect the foundation of your business.

Your AI acts as your executive coach. It asks hard questions. It challenges your assumptions. It helps you synthesize everything into a one-page summary you can actually use.

By the end of the session, you'll have clarity on your positioning, your most profitable audience segments, your offer structure, your core systems, and a quarterly review protocol that keeps it all alive.

It's not a plan that sits in a folder. It's a diagnostic system that adapts with you.

Here's what to do this weekend:

  1. Make a copy of the workbook
  2. Block 90 minutes. Saturday morning with coffee works great.
  3. Open your AI assistant - ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, whatever you've got - and work through the prompts.

That's it.

Three months from now, when you're executing with focus instead of drowning in scattered ideas, you'll remember this as the weekend that changed things.

Your business plan is a trap. In this podcast short, learn why it's the most dangerous document for a solopreneur and how to build a living, AI-powered strategy instead.
