Crew Launch Terms

Crew Launch · Terms

The terms, in plain English

These terms cover the Crew Launch and Crew Expansion. When you pay through a button on either page, you're agreeing to them, so they're written to be read. They're an agreement between you and Mike Allton, doing business as The AI Hat; wherever this page says "I" or "me", that's who it means. If anything here is unclear, email me before you buy and I'll answer it.

What you're buying

Crew Launch is a fixed-scope engagement in three parts.

  1. The audit. A survey of about fifteen minutes per person that maps where your team's hours go. If you haven't picked an AI platform yet, the audit recommends one from your answers.
  2. Session one. Live training on the one AI platform you chose, with your audit results reviewed together.
  3. Session two. A live build session on the workflow we pick at the end of session one. We redesign that workflow and hire the Digital Crew member that takes what's left.

Solo is one participant. Team is two to twelve participants. A participant is anyone who gets a seat on the platform and attends the sessions, not everyone on your payroll. Thirteen or more people is scoped separately; start with a strategy call.

There's no hourly meter. The scope above is the scope, and the price is the one shown on the page when you paid.

Every session is live. These platforms change too often for a recording to stand in for training, so there's no recorded version of either session.

What's included

  • A written role description for the crew member we build, and your org chart updated to show it, with the name of the person on your team who owns it.
  • Recordings of both sessions, for your team's own internal use.
  • Fourteen days of email Q&A after session two.
  • A 90-day review: your team retakes the same survey, and I send you a before-and-after report of what changed.

What I ask of you

Seats before session one. Every participant needs an active, paid seat on the platform you chose at least three business days before session one. If the seats aren't ready, we move session one rather than run it half-equipped. I schedule the audit early so there's time to decide and buy.

Homework between sessions. Each participant builds a voice profile for their own email, using the prompt I send. You also gather three real examples of the workflow we picked. Session two runs on those examples, so the build is only as good as what you bring.

Your data, your call. You decide what information goes into your AI tools, and you're responsible for following the rules of your industry when you do, including any client privacy or health-information rules that apply to you. I don't take custody of your client data, and I'll ask you not to put real client records on the screen during our sessions; we'll work from examples with personal details removed. Anything you share with me about your business stays confidential, apart from what you've agreed I can use under Recordings below.

Payment and booking

You pay first. Once payment goes through, you'll land on the scheduling page, where you book your sessions and start the audit.

If a payment plan or an invoice for your books works better, email me before you buy and I'll set one up. A Launch counts as booked once it's paid in full, or once the first payment on an agreed plan is made.

Scheduling, rescheduling and timing

Both sessions of a Crew Launch are completed within 90 days of purchase. If life gets in the way, we can agree to extend that once.

You can reschedule each session once at no cost with at least 48 hours' notice. A session missed without notice counts as delivered.

Refunds

After you take the audit, I read your results before we meet. If they show the Launch isn't the right fit for you, I'll refund you in full and point you toward what is.

Once session one has started, the Launch isn't refundable. Before that, refunds outside the audit case are at my discretion, and I'm reasonable about them.

Recordings

I record the sessions so your team can rewatch them. The recordings are for your internal use and aren't for public or marketing use without a separate agreement.

I also keep the right to record sessions and to use short excerpts as examples of the work. I'll never use your name, your company's name, or anything you said in a way that identifies you without asking you first and getting a written yes.

What you own

The crew member we build lives in your own AI account, and it's yours: the instructions, the voice profile, the role description and the updated org chart. My methods, templates, survey and teaching materials stay mine. You're welcome to use everything I give you inside your own business, for as long as you like; what you can't do is resell it, republish it, or use it to train other businesses.

Email from me

When you buy, you'll get the emails that go with your Launch: scheduling, the audit, and your 90-day review. You'll also get my weekly newsletter. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter anytime with the link at the bottom of any issue, and it won't affect your Launch.

Crew Expansion

Crew Expansion is only for people who have completed a Crew Launch. It's two more live build sessions, prepaid, at one price whether your Launch was Solo or Team. Use both sessions within 60 days of purchase. It doesn't include a new role description or org chart update. Everything else on this page about live sessions, rescheduling, recordings, data and ownership applies to Crew Expansion too.

The fine print

No guaranteed results. I'll teach your team, and we'll build a working crew member together. What it does for your business afterward depends on how your team uses it, so I can't promise a particular number of hours saved, revenue, or any other outcome.

The AI platforms are someone else's. Your crew member runs on a platform you pay for, owned by another company. I'm not responsible for that platform's outages, price changes, feature changes, or how it handles your data. If a change breaks what we built during your 14-day Q&A window, tell me and I'll help you adjust it.

Your review. Anything your crew member drafts for a client, a regulator, or the public is reviewed by a person on your team before it goes out. That's part of how we build it, and it's your responsibility once it's running.

Limit of liability. If something goes wrong, my total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid for the Launch or Expansion in question. Neither of us is responsible to the other for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits.

Changes to these terms. I may update this page. The version that was live when you paid is the one that applies to your purchase.

The whole agreement. This page, plus anything we agree in writing by email, is the full agreement between us for a Crew Launch or Crew Expansion. If one part of it turns out not to be enforceable, the rest still stands.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of Missouri.
